“The Rock” by Tracy Lawrence
Ok, here goes. How do you explain Tracy Lawrence’s new CD “The Rock” that’s due to be released in June. It is nothing like anything he has done in the past, but yet, it is just like what you would expect from him. Heartfelt, emotional, direct, caring and truthful. Tracy puts his whole heart and soul literally on the line with the “Rock.” Is it gospel, is it country, maybe country gospel. It is none of the above. It is Tracy Lawrence baring his soul for everyone to look at and see him for who he really is, ” A Man” who is not perfect and who has made mistakes as we all have and he finds a way to get back to who he really is and back to his beliefs.
Tracy’s powerful, overview of spiritual music has taken him to new heights and will bring his fans and those fans of country music to a new place, a place to look at themselves and think about where they are and where they want to be. Whether your Christian, Protestant, Buddhist or what ever, it does not matter, this album is phenomenal and unprecidented. Especially now with the economy as it is and people losing their jobs as well as their homes, the “Rock” will give them something to grab onto and believe in themselves and in god, that things will change as did Tracy. Tracy changed alot of different things in his life over the years to be able to believe in himself to do this album.
The “Rock” is a journey through life. Whether it be Tracy or “Somebody Who Would Die For You”. We all at sometime in our life will mentally write a letter to god asking him “Dear Lord” please grant me whatever, or help me, or make me understand why. Think about “Every Prayer” you ever said to god and why you were praying to him. We all at sometime get to a point where we say ok enough is enough “I’m Done” i am not doing this anymore or how ever you may say it. It all comes back to “The Book You Never Read” and why you did not take the time to read it, and now your looking for a piece of something to hold you steadfast and to give you the strength like “The Rock”. We all have our own place to go when times get tough like they are now, “I Know Where Heaven Is” and its wherever we find solace and comfort and helps us through our times of hardship and trials of life and we “Say A Prayer” and “Look Up To Him” to give us the strength to go on. “Jesus Come Talk To Your Chidren” and help them understand that your love is unconditional and has no racial, sexual or ethnic boundries and let them know that you are always there even though it may not seem that you are.
The Rock is an unbelievabke album and Tracy Lawrence should be proud of what he has accomplished with it. This album is going to touch not only his fans, but alot of other people that hear it even if they are not country music fans. Everyone could learn from this album all they have to do is listen. It is a lesson in life and how to make the best of it. Let us all be thankful for each other and always remember the important things in life and remember to not only tell people that you love them, show them. Sometims saying it just isn’t enough.
Let me leave you with this, “Peace Truly does come from within. The way we react to life may be the only control we have over it. So remember pick your battles and remember to enjoy life because it is very short.
