Jessica Harp’s ” A Women Needs”

Recently Jessica Harp took over Watertown, TN.,  a small town just north of Nashville  to film her new video “A Woman Needs“  which was released December 7.  A very personal song that most if not all women can relate to.  Jessica took time out of her busy schedule to talk to us here at Country Fan Network.

Countryfannetwork:  Hi Jessica.  How does it feel to be out on your own with a new album coming out?

Jessica Harp:  Good, it’s everything I have ever wanted.

CFN: Did you write  any of the songs on the Album and how did you come up with them?

JH:  I co-wrote all but 3.  The songs are autobiographical of when i was younger, and i draw on inspirations from family, friends and all over.  I keep a list of song titles and go through my songs and find the song or songs that best fits the titles I have written down.

CFN: ” A Women Needs” is that you or just a song?

JH:  Very much me.  It sets the tone of the record and its who I am.  My Favorite lyrics in the song are ” A woman needs a few second chances”.

CFN:  Do you think people will be able to relate to you and your new album as far as your music being relate-able to your fans?

JH:  People relate to country music itself, and I believe people will definitely be able to relate to my music because they are very relate-able.

CFN:  Do you prefer upbeat songs over a more sensitive slow song?

JH:  Both, live shows should be and are energetic and upbeat.  Acoustic songs are more intimate, like being at the edge of the stage and up close to the crowds.

CFN:  How does it feel to play in front of 20 or 30,00 fans?

JH:  Its actually easier than playing in small clubs and venues like that, because you can’t see the fans faces like a small club with a 100 people.  I don’t even get nervous anymore, I am very comfortable in my own skin, i really don’t let it bother me anymore, I just go out and have fun.

CFN:  When you were recording your album ” A Women Needs ” what did you have in mind when you recorded it?

JH:  I wanted to make a record that was fun when played live. And have the fans singing and dancing along to the music.

Jessica has always wanted  to be a country singer since she saw her first country concert which was Reba McIntyre.  She passed up two chances to to sign as a Pop Music artist.  So as you can see sometimes ” A Woman Needs ” more than one chance to be able to achieve her dreams as we all do.  So listen for ” A Woman Needs ” on your local radio stations and be sure to call and request it often.
